Hackney Townhouse Refurbishment and Rear Extension

Architects: Paul Cahillane Studio
Location: De Beauvoir Town Conservation Area, Hackney, East London
Project type: Refurbishment + Extension
Duration: 6 months
Year: 2025

Brookcraft Construction completed the lower ground floor refurbishment and rear extension of this period home located in the heart of Hackney’s De Beauvoir Town Conservation Area.

Working in collaboration with Paul Cahillane Studio, our team brought the design vision to life through a complete transformation of the lower ground floor, creating a bright and functional living space with a guest bedroom, utility room, and bathroom.

The project included a wide range of bespoke and technical works such as air conditioning system installation, full electrical rewiring, plumbing, electric underfloor heating, and the fitting of new partitions and insulation. Our skilled craftsmen handled bespoke joinery, kitchen and bathroom fitting, tiling, and floor installation, while custom-made windows, doors, and lighting were installed to ensure both aesthetic quality and performance.

The rear extension and roof lights installation maximised natural light and strengthened the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The finishing touches — painting and decoration — completed the cohesive look, reflecting the calm and contemporary feel envisioned by the design studio.

From structural works to the finest details, Brookcraft Construction provided comprehensive project delivery, ensuring high-quality execution at every stage. Completed in early 2025, this project stands as a great example of our commitment to precision and craftsmanship.
