Trejo’s Tacos has opened in London

Hollywood legend Danny Trejo brought his Mexican brand Trejo’s Tacos to the UK this year. The famous actor from the great movies Machete, Breaking Bad, From Dusk Till Down and Heat has opened his first restaurant on Portobello Road in Notting Hill.

Our company Brookcraft Construction was chosen as the main contractor for the building works in London. We were entrusted with the full refurbishment of the space. Working with Danny Trejo’s team together with Superfutures Architecture & Design is a great pleasure. It was an extraordinary experience and joyful cooperation.

The restaurant occupies a two-storey, 914 sqm site. Our team replaced the property’s electrical wiring and set up new partitions and insulated plasterboard. We renovated the kitchen and installed professional equipment. The walls and ceilings were covered with a spray paint finish, and coloured inserts as smooth lines were added to the bottom of the walls. We also restored and painted the windows, refreshed the wooden bar and decorated the countertop with coloured tiles. An important part of the project was the design and installation of a bespoke furniture, as well as the setting up of special niches for plants. The main accent of the interior is a provocative vibrant work by the artist Alastair Hamish Campbell. In the gallery below you can find before and after photos of the restaurant.
